SME’s – What would you do should your business be affected by Snow, Ice or Flood?

The Insurance Times Daily reports that the majority of SME’s consider the Christmas period as crucial to their business success.

Zurich undertook research asking SME’s to list the top five concerns they had regarding issues which could affect their business over the festive period. The top issue was ‘Lack of consumer demand due to the economy’, quoted by 28% of the companies.

Although the winter weather  brings snow, ice and flood at this time of year, and over a quarter of SME’s reported concerns of severe weather affecting business over this period, only 58% of  business’s (65% of small business’s),  had contingencies in place should adverse weather occur.

The other top concerns which could potentially affect business were found to be over-worked/stressed staff at 12%, issues with suppliers (12%) and competitive price impacting sales at 11%.
