HomeServe announces further 300 job losses in the UK.

Company under investigation by FSA for mis-selling announces job losses as part of ‘restructuring’.

HomeServe which offers policies for home cover for burst pipe repairs, electrical faults and broken-down boilers have announced a further 300 job losses across its sites in Walsall, Preston and Banbury. This is in addition to the 400 jobs cut to date following mis-selling allegations in October 2011.

HomeServe who were fined £750,000 by the regulator Ofcom last year for silent and abandoned ‘phone calls have said that the job losses are part of its restructuring to improve the effectiveness of its sales and marketing activity and overall business plans for the next two years.

Whilst HomeServe suspended its call-centre sales in October 2011 to review and improve practices, the company is currently undergoing investigation by the Financial Services Authority.
