Case Study: Shoddy workmanship on extension blamed for damage to flooring
Following an extension at their home, the property was subject to water ingress after storms and heavy rainfall. At the time the Policyholder instructed further works to be undertaken to ‘safeguard’ the property from any future potential damage.
Many months later, the Policyholder noticed that ceramic tiles were lifting from the area which had been affected by the flooding. Insurers argued this was caused by ‘poor workmanship’ and declined the claim. After undertaking investigations AJC Consultants established that the damage was consistent with flood waters entering and the claim was therefore accepted by Insurers.
‘We want to sincerely thank you for all your help in dealing with our insurers. We are so pleased with the outcome and are looking forward to the repair work being completed.’
