Environment Agency warns Floods likely for Autumn and Winter

We may have been hoping that given the washout this summer that the winter will prove less troublesome, however, the Environment Agency and Met Office are warning that floods are a likely occurrence this autumn and winter.

April to June were the wettest on record with the wet weather continuing July to October.  With already saturated ground conditions and high river levels,  warnings to prepare for floods have been given to householders and emergency services, as even relatively small amounts of rain combined with the current ground conditions are likely to result in floods.
